LAMB MEAT. Of all meats, lamb is the one easiest to digest and causes the least allergies. Lamb meat (not meal) in HUND-N-FLOCKEN is USDA approved and imported from New Zealand as the lamb meat is hormone free and is not sprayed with chemicals or preservatives. WHOLE GROUND MILLET. High protein grain containing the richest store of vitamins. Compared with other grains, millet is higher in B vitamins, copper, and iron. Millet is the only cereal, which is able to support animal life and development when fed as an exclusive diet. (Osborne & Mandel: Yale University) GROUND BROWN RICE. Grain appreciated for its balance and easy digestibility. Brown rice contains lysine (essential amino acid), B vitamins, iron, phosphorous, and magnesium (major minerals). WHOLE GROUND BARLEY. Barley helps keep arteries clear. Whole grain barley is more nutritious than pealed barley (used in soups). Barley contains both soluble (lowers cholesterol) and insoluble (good for intestines) fiber and is a good source of B vitamins, phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, and zinc. AMARANTH. Grain known for its high quality, easy digestibility, and complete essential amino acids. It's protein (also contains lysine) ranks as one of the highest in the vegetable kingdom. Amaranth is an excellent source of calcium, phosphorus, and iron, and considered the grain of the future by nutritionists. MENHADEN FISH MEAL. Menhaden herring is considered the cleanest fish in the ocean. They are neither top swimmers (affected by chemicals floating on the surface) nor bottom swimmers (where heavy metal toxins lie). CANOLA OIL. Canola oil contains no animal fat and is lower in saturated fat than any other oil on the market (contains no sodium or cholesterol). FLAXSEED OIL. Stimulates the immune system and assists calcium absorption. Contains anti-tumor properties and is considered an antioxidant (which keeps cells younger longer). Flaxseed oil also assists in lowering trigycerides and cholesterol level as well assisting in diabetic conditions. SOLID GOLD flaxseed oil is organically grown, cold processed, and no chemicals are used. Flaxseed oil is the richest source of Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids (EFA's) are needed for body metabolism/function and cannot be manufactured by the body, but must be supplied in the diet. For further information on Flaxseed Oil read: "Flax Oil as a True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer & Other Diseases" by Johanna Budwig. CANOLA OIL & FLAXSEED OIL. Both are high in Omega 3 monounsaturated EFA's. Omega 3 has been shown to help improve the heart and circulatory systems in animals. Vegetable oils never contain cholesterol. Cholesterol is found in animal fat and poultry fat. GARLIC. Excellent as an aid for respiratory problems and a source of sulfur for the skin. Sulfur is a major mineral necessary for digestion and energy metabolism. YUCCA SCHIDIGERA. Aids in food absorption and odor control of stools and body odor. Yucca is a food, which is a natural analgesic. Excellent for the dog suffering from arthritis, hip dysplasia, bone/joint problems, and/or soft tissue swelling. TAURINE. Fish is high in taurine and is good for the eyes and heart. BLUEBERRIES. Blueberries help to improve vision. CATNIP. Catnip is part of the peppermint family. Peppermint aids in soothing the smooth muscle tissues of the stomach (reason people take antacids). Catnip works on the pleasure center of the brain that both dogs and cats can enjoy. HYDRANGEA. Herb thought to acidify urine and to help prevent renal calculus (bladder/kidney stones) from forming. BETA-CAROTENE. The original source of retinal (Vitamin A) found in plants and plant pigments. Beta-carotene is converted to Vitamin A in the intestinal wall during absorption. Vitamin A plays a vital role in the formation and maintenance of healthy functioning epithelial tissue (skin) that forms the body's first barrier to infection. There is evidence that Vitamin A has some preventive association in the development of epithelial cancer. (Nutrition and Diet Therapy by Sue Rodwell Williams 5th ed.) Studies that associate Vitamin A with cancer prevention found that foods high in carotene are effective, but that carotene found in pill form were not. |
